Sometimes, there are people that you meet that make you have an immediate emotional reaction. You can actually feel the spark between the two, and it is just so blatantly obvious that they are madly in love. This is how we felt about our first encounter with Kayla and Derick in downtown Knoxville. These two beautiful people didn't need much directing as they just naturally gravitate towards each other, and we were so thrilled to be able to capture their energy as a couple in these images.
Kayla and Derick met at Lee University when Derick decided to make some life changes and move to a new school. The two were instantly attracted to one another, but they initially only interacted on social media. Eventually, Derick asked for Kayla's number, and they spent their first date chatting over coffee. Each says they fell for one another that night through their smiles and laughs. Derick's insanely romantic proposal was a scavenger hunt set up for Kayla including her sister as a driver, a playlist of all of their songs, clues that led her to all the places that are part of their love story, and a go pro to record it all. So thoughtful and endearing!
This engagement session took place along Gay street in downtown Knoxville--beginning at the Gay street bridge, moving to the iconic Tennessee sign, and wrapping up in Krutch Park and the surrounding streets. Olivia + Austin - Elkmont & Spence Cabin Area Smoky Mountain Engagement
This adorable Memphis couple made a trip to the Smoky Mountains and asked us to capture some engagement photos with the National Park as the backdrop. Olivia and Austin are a sweet, fun loving couple, and these images bring a smile to our faces.
Their burgundy outfits and shades of blue popped perfectly against the changing fall leaves. The most memorable aspect of this shoot, however, was the incorporation of Austin's guitar on the rock amidst the flowing creek. Olivia is one lucky girl as Austin regularly serenades her, and we were so excited to bring this aspect of their relationship to life through these images.
We are swooning over these moments with Olivia and Austin, and we want to wish the cuties a big congratulations again!
The Quarry at Ijams & Downtown Knoxville Engagement - Kari & Ben
Three words: beauty, beard, and bikes.
Kari and Ben's engagement session at Ijams and around Market Square in Knoxville was all about these three B's. We absolutely love this couple's energy, and their love for each other clearly radiates through these photos.
Kari is a natural beauty with a gorgeous smile that lights up the room, and we adored her choice of a red sundress for the more rustic photos at the Quarry. Ben was looking quite dapper as well with the always classic choice of a bow tie. Their styling was perfect! The first thing we noticed about Ben when we met him was that amazing beard; we were glad to highlight this feature in all its glory in these photos. The incorporation of the two vintage-inspired bikes allowed the two to share some really playful moments with each other and for us to capture some candid images of the two truly being themselves.

Cincinnati Roebling Bridge & City Engagement - Amber & Nathan
We always have a blast traveling to capture amazing moments with our couples, and our weekend trip to Cincinnati to meet up with Amber and Nathan was no exception.
The couple decided on two primary locations for their engagement session, the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge and Cincinnati Music Hall, both sentimental for these two. How could we not love the blue bridge hanging over the Ohio River and surrounded by some of the city's most beautiful sites? Our favorite moments getting to know this couple involved a series of shots where we were all moving in and out of the street for passing cars, as the couple laughed playful and danced between the large brick entryway. These two were game for anything, and we appreciated their perfect styling and true naturalness.
Music Hall, just beyond Washington Park, provided an elegant backdrop for some additional city shots, but we really enjoyed spending time over ice cream with Amber and Nathan at a local candy store, Schenider's Sweet Shop. These candid moments were so much fun to experience with the two, and we could truly see their love and joy as they laughed and shared a cone of mint chocolate chip.
We cannot wait for Amber and Nathan's wedding alongside Norris Lake in August, but for now, we hope you enjoy this Cincinnati engagement.
Robertha & Wes's Cades Cove Smoky Mountain Engagement
Robertha and Wes are such a cute and stylish couple, and we were so thrilled to have the opportunity to take their engagement photos when they were visiting the mountains with Wes's family and celebrating his birthday.
We met up with this couple in smoky mountains and drove through together, stopping at various locations in the National Park to capture Robertha and Wes among the gorgeous scenery. We loved the initial photos taken of this couple strolling through an overgrown field and of the two cuddling in the perfect picnic spot with a mountain backdrop. The smoky mountains also features a picturesque mill and bridge as well as several quaint homes and cabins, and we loved that we had an opportunity to snag a few shots of the couple within these rustic settings.

Sarah & Daniel's Haw Ridge Park Engagement
These high school sweethearts had two classes together when they initially met, and ironically enough one of those was Chemistry, something clearly evident in these adorable engagement photos.
It couldn't have been a more perfect evening to spend with these two at Haw Ridge in Oak Ridge. This park boasts extensive trails that run alongside the Clinch River, and we loved the gorgeous scenery of this location as well as the old fashioned wooden fence and beautiful docks we visited with the couple. Haw Ridge holds a bit of sentimental value for the two as well as they have run the trails together, and we were thrilled to incorporate that sense of nostalgia in these photos.
We had to visit the location where it all started, their alma mater, Hardin Valley Academy, to capture a few intimate moments with Sarah and Daniel. We climbed to the top of a hill overlooking the school with blooming wildflowers and a mountain backdrop, resulting in some of our favorite shots.
