Forks of the River Sunflower Engagement - Sarah Beth + Josh
One of Knoxville's most popular destinations for summer photos only exists for a couple weeks at the beginning of July. The sunflower fields at Forks of the River Wildlife Management Area appear and fade away quickly, but we made sure to meet this couple, Sarah Beth and Josh, just in time for their engagement photos before the blooms disappeared until next year.
Adventurous and outdoorsy, Sarah Beth and Josh decided on a sunrise shoot, and although a glorious peeping of the sun through the clouds didn't really happen on this overcast day like we were hoping, we embraced the dramatic fog hovering over the fields for some super cool shots of the two. Sarah Beth told us in her initial contact that nature and wildlife are a what brought the two together (as they are both field researchers), so we thought it was only fitting for their engagement to be in a unique outdoor setting with this fleeting show of natural beauty. Although these flowers come and go quickly, we know the love these best friends share isn't going anywhere and neither is our excitement about their wedding in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park this fall. Cades Cove Smoky Mountain Engagement - Alisha + Evan
We met our friends in the mountains for this romantic engagement session. Evan and Alisha are not only awesome people, but we discovered that they are also models on the side (only kidding).
Alisha's sundress was a perfect choice for a summer shoot, and her white maxi dress added a bridal touch. We loved the incorporation of her flower crown for a stunning and unique detail. Evan's outfit choices complimented hers but added to the casual and playful nature of this shoot.
Alisha also brought along some great props that we were excited to capture for the two. The pendant sign with their wedding date was adorable, and we couldn't get enough of the cabinet door that they converted into a sign for a great save the date photo. Our favorite styled detail, however, was the inclusion of the pillows of different colors and patterns as the two cuddled on a blanket together in the middle of a small trail.
We are so happy for these two, and we are thrilled that we get to be part of their day next May. Take a trip to the Smoky Mountains with us through these photos of Alisha and Evan.
Heather and PJ Engagement Shoot

I am so excited to share with you this Knoxville couple's engagement photos. Saturday, May 31st, I was able to photograph Heather and PJ for their engagement. Heather and PJ have been friends of mine for several years now, and I was excited by the opportunity to photograph them. They are such a great couple, and you can tell that they are so in love.
We decided to do their photo shoot at Volunteer Landing Marina in order to take some beautiful and unique shots at one of Knoxville's most interesting sites. By visiting the marina's bridges, docks, trails, and railroad tracks, we were able to capture some sweet moments.
Heather and PJ are to be wed this December in Cancun, Mexico, and I am looking forward to traveling with them to celebrate their special day.
